    Bowling Fans Central

Hello, Welcome to this issue of Bowling Fans Central  I'm your host Josh Hyde. In this months newsletter we will be talking about how to rank your top 15 bowlers of all time. We will also be talking about the Lake County Senior Open.

The PBA is letting you the fans rank your top 15 Denny's PBA players of all time. I have broken it down into a system to make it easier for you.  I have broken it down into 11 categories this includes: T.V. appearances, titles, majors, earning points, awards, and total rank. This allowed me to come up with a good ranking.  You can log on to www.pba.com/alltime/rank.aspx to rank your top 15 of all time.

Here are my thoughts on the top 15 of all time. The top 5 were sort of easy! These would include: Walter Ray Williams Jr., Earl Anthony, Pete Weber, Mark Roth and Mike Aulby. The next 5 got a little trickier. These are **** Weber, Marshall Holman, Norm Duke, Parker Bohn III, and Dave Husted. The last 5 were the toughest because there are so many good players on the Denny's PBA Tour. These are Jason Couch, Amleto Monacelli, Brian Voss, Don Johnson, and Dave Davis. As you can tell this is not an easy task.

As for the Lake County Senior Open, the scores were really high as the cut took +349 over to make the top 32 and +268 to cash. Some of the past names that made the finals were: Mark Williams, Wayne Webb, Sam Zurich, Tom Baker, Henry Gonzalez, Dave Soutar, and Dale Traber. Mark Williams won his first PBA Senior title as he defeated Dale Traber 249 to 234.  In the round of 32, I saw Steve Ferraro beat PBA Hall of Famer Dave Soutar. They both beat each other by one pin in their match. Dave beat Steve in game 2 (246-245). Then Steve beat Dave in game 3 (224-223). The match went to game 5 and Steve ended up winning with a score of 233-215. In the round of 24 I watched Kenny Parks beat Rohn Morton 3 games to 1. Tim Kauble had a 300 in the round of 32 and then had 299 in the round of 24. As you can tell the scores were high.

Thank you for reading this edition of Bowling Fans Central!
